..the largest chateau in the valley,started by Francois 1 in 1519,taking over 20 years..

It was his hunting lodge, among other uses. The center houses it's famous double spiral staircase,thought to have been designed by Leonardo Da Vinci, where one descending would not see the one ascending. 440 rooms with 365 chimneys and 84 staircases
